Pic Me Up - Victoria
I’m feeling rather under the weather today, so I thought I’d try and reverse my luck by sharing some pictures from our perfect fall-weather day in Victoria, British Columbia. I’d been once before with my parents many years ago, and it was great to go back as an adult and with Brian in tow. If you ever make it as far as Vancouver, Victoria with its beautiful Butchart Gardens and precious historic downtown is absolutely worth the day trip.

Seattle Food GuideBrian and I ate so well on our trip (deliciously, not healthily) that we had to push back our engagement-photo session originally scheduled for this weekend by a week to try and reverse some of the damage. Desperate times, desperate measures. The face chub is likely irreparable, but it’s worth a shot.

I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t stop to snap a few pictures along the way, so please follow along as I take a look back at some of the meal and travel highlights in our first stop of Seattle. There’s more to come in a little home video that I’m working on, but these pictures and suggestions should tide us over for now. Let’s go!

Brian & Yang in Victoria{Outside the British Columbia Parliament Building}

Greetings from Canada! Just dropping in to say a quick hello aboard a British Columbia Ferry before we get to Vancouver for the final leg of our trip. We’ve been loving every moment so far and I have plenty of pictures and a hopeful video to share upon our return. I’d love Vancouver doing and dining suggestions if you have any. Thanks!

P.S. The British Columbia Parliament Building has this beautiful dome that didn’t quite make the photo. Pictures by strangers are always a dice roll, but I’m happy to have a picture of the two of us regardless.

Travel Essentials Packing Tips

My apologies for the tardy post today. I just got back to DC after clocking in some quality time with the parents, real high-quality stuff that led me to neglect my usual Monday blog post, and I was surprisingly ok with that. So there I was, aboard my 20th some plane in four months, flying over Ohio, resigned to the fact that I would be skipping a day of blogging, when it hit me that I should put all of my recent schlepping to good use. You see, I fancy myself a bit of a travel and flying expert. More than once I’ve taken two-week long trips with nothing but a carry-on suitcase and bag. It can be done, people. All it takes is some smart packing (roll your clothes!) and a few trusted items to help you get there. Here are some of my tried and true travel essentials.

Mussels in Brussels - Food Guide

Yep. Another European food guide. I promise this one on Brussels will be quick and the last (if you haven’t already, check out my Berlin and Prague guides too).

I’d been to Brussels once before and really didn’t like it. This time, I left with a much better impression of the place and I owe it all to the improved dining choices. Since not everyone will get a second chance at visiting, follow my few recommendations and you’re sure to have a great time.

Prague Food Guide
Hello from DC! After two long yet short, tiring yet thrilling weeks away, it’s good to be back in the good ol’ USofA. I have quite the week of back-to-the-grindness ahead of me, but before I let myself face that reality, wanted to take a moment to reminisce and share a couple of Prague food suggestions. Prague was my favorite stop of the trip and the delicacies had quite a lot to do with it. Dobrou chuť (Bon Appetit)!
