I’m not one to preach beauty tips, because when it comes to my makeup, I’ve pretty much kept to the same routine since junior year of high school. It’s still MAC StudioFix powder foundation, MAC mineral bronzer, and Maybelline eyeliner, but I did recently add a NARS beauty stick and an SPF CC Cream to the mix, because let’s face it, I’m not getting any younger. Despite my lacking beauty knowledge, I thought I’d use today’s Thirsty Thursday platform to share a beverage-related tip: green tea ice cubes.
Green tea, now that’s something I know a thing or two about.
Also known as “skin icing” or an “ice facial,” green tea ice cubes are a great way to depuff your eyes, shrink the appearance or your pores, and give your face a nice dewy glow. The bonus antioxidants are also great for fighting wrinkles, acne and free radicals, whatever that means.
To make the stuff you’ll need green tea and an ice tray. Duh
Another duh moment: pour green tea into ice cube trays and freeze.
To put these ice cubes to work, wrap them in a paper towel or cloth, and massage them against your eyes and face. The wrapping is important, because applying the cold ice cubes directly can cause little blood vessels to burst, and we wouldn’t want that.
What we do want is to use this simple and easy beauty trick to cool down and get pretty. You can do this morning and/or night, and best of all, it won’t break the bank, not even a dent. This is proof beauty regimens don’t have to be expensive, and further cements my love for green tea.
Another tip for you: try the ice cubes as more traditional beverage chillers and throw them in tall glasses of green tea lemonade.
Also, I had dinner with Monica of Cake and Lillies fame last night. I’ve been frequenting her darling blog for months now (as should you) and it was great to finally meet in person. We both dream of becoming more serious bloggers and it’s great having an ally. We’re going to become fast friends. I can tell.
