Happy Thursday, you guys! I mean happy in the greatest sense of the word, because Brian comes back to DC tonight! Sure, he says he’s doing it to see me, and sure, I think watching the Super Bowl with his friends is more like it (check out these bingo cards if you haven’t already), but I’ll take whatever excuse I can get.
Before I run off to stare at the clock and count down the hours (8:50 can’t get here soon enough), here’s something I concocted for Brian’s arrival. He, like me, loves anything green tea, and since I want him to be sufficiently caffeinated to talk late into the night, the easy and delicious Matcha Milkshake was born. It’s a good one!
To make one milkshake, all you need is: ½ cup milk, 4 scoops vanilla ice cream, 1 tablespoon matcha powder and whipped cream if you’re feeling up for it. I’m never not feeling up for it.
If you love how easy the ingredient list was, then you’re gonna love this. To make a milkshake, all you need is to combine the ingredients in a blender, and blend!
Pour into a glass, top with whipped cream and sprinkle on a little bit of extra matcha for fun.
And that’s it! So easy and so delicious. For those of you new to matcha green tea, you should know that it’s very much an acquired taste, but wonderful and addictive once you appreciate it (I’ve talked about it in detail here). This milkshake with its taste-friendly ice-cream base makes for a nice introduction, so get to it. Cheers!
