Easy Peach CrispsA recipe post! Finally. And to mark the occasion and my first food post as a Georgia resident, I made something with peaches, because of course. The peach part was easy. The challenge was making something not horribly bad for us (we ate a lot of great food over the weekend and I know I’ll be paying the price on the scale this week), and something that wouldn’t take too much effort (we had enough other housework to keep us busy). So, with the above criteria in mind, the idea for an easy, portion-controlled peach crisp for two was born. The results were quite satisfying, but the real accomplishment here is that I actually pulled off blogging about it. High fives all around.

Yang Charleston Bachelorette Invitation{My beautiful bachelorette invites designed by my dear Megan}

Still living in a mostly unpacked state, I haven’t quite figured out how to get back to this blogging thing, but I’ve made an executive decision, and next week I’m returning to the regularly scheduled programming no matter what. I have to, because if I can’t pull it off next week, then I don’t stand much of a chance going forward. I’ll be away the following four weekends in a row (Denver, Chicago, Sarasota and Indianapolis) with more travel on the horizon. I’m so exhausted yet excited just thinking about it! Traveling every weekend is something quite common for me around the summertime, but this year’s bouncing about is getting started a little earlier than usual thanks to the wedding. So the point is, I really need to learn to get my act together because as time-consuming as it can be to do everything involved with blogging, it makes me happy and I ought to keep it up.

My Charleston bachelorette won’t be until late June (taking suggestions!), but it’s definitely the trip I’m most looking forward to (other than the honeymoon, of course). How darling is that invite? My dear friend Megan really outdid herself this time, hand-lettering and drawing everything like the pro that she is. She’s working on starting her own wedding stationery and online print shop, and I’m so excited for her and for all of you, really. Because soon, everyone will be able to enjoy her designs. She is without a doubt the most talented person I know and I’m lucky to have her as a friend and my own personal wedding designer.

Ok, that’s it from me this week. I’m off to make the most of my first and only weekend in Atlanta for a little while. Wishing you a wonderful weekend and I’ll see you back here on Monday!

Also, I love Katy Perry’s “This Is How We Do” music video. It’s the perfect girls’ weekend song, plus the dancing popsicles and pizzas really did me in.

Pic Me Up - Cleveland April
Is it really Wednesday already? As I attempt to stay on top of things (in other areas of my life, since I’m clearly dropping the ball on blogging), here’s a quick look at our time in Cleveland over the weekend.

Having just moved me to Atlanta the Sunday prior, Brian and I really could have used the weekend to finish unpacking and whatnot, but at the same time, were quite grateful to leave our messy apartment behind for some much needed wedding planning and quality time with his family. Unpacking would have to wait. I don’t want to give too much away (our flowers won’t look like that), but a lot of what you see are sights from the Cleveland Museum of Art where, in case you’re new to this blog, Brian and I are getting married in August. Fun fact: they have hands-down the best cafeteria ever and their mac and cheese might be the very best we’ve ever had. If it’s any indication of what our wedding dinner will be like, we’ll all be in for a great treat!

Ok, back to work now. Happy hump day to you!

Yang-Womenetics-Headshot
I meant to post this on Friday. I’ve been starting my sentences with “I meant to” quite a lot lately, but I’m giving myself one big pass for all the major life changes we so smartly lumped together. Remind me not to do that again. Anyway, last week was my first full week on the new job and what a week it was. It was equal parts exhilarating and exhausting as I’ve enjoyed this feeling of starting a new life in a new place, and simultaneously stressed about the challenges of a new job in a new field. I’m a worrier by nature, but looking back, I can happily say things went as well as I could have hoped for and I’m excited to see how and where things go from here.

As part of the new job, my work sent a photographer in to take some headshots for the company bio pages. The more “professional” photo of the bunch made the cut, but since I had so much fun with the very talented Dru, I thought the rest were worth keeping and sharing. Work’s all well and good, but we can’t take ourselves too seriously, right? This little gif is a reminder of that. Alright, that’s it from me today. I hope your week is off to a productive start!

Pic Me Up - 4.1.15
Doing things slightly out of order this week with a look back at some of the more eventful moments of the last several days. I definitely already miss the amazing DC friends we’ve come to know and love, but I have the utmost confidence that we’ll all keep in touch and that Brian and I will have lots of visitors in the years to come. I see many trips to the Coke museum in our future.

Oh, and since it’s getting warmer out, you’re definitely looking for a place to put your nice cold beverages.
