Happy Fryday, friends! For today’s treat, I’m sharing a healthier take on the fried Avocado Fries from a few weeks back. Crunchy avocados have since become a favorite snack of mine, but frying isn’t always a great option for both health and convenience reasons. Turns out, the baked stuff is very truly just as tasty and really easy too. So ladies, you really can have it all! If only life were that simple.
Hello hello! You know me and my love of fries, but making homemade potato fries with the washing of the potatoes, sometimes peeling of the potatoes, and chopping of the potatoes can get a bit time consuming, and you’re better off just getting your fix at McDonald’s. The word “better” being used rather loosely. Well, that’s where these baked polenta fries come in. They’re as easy as cut, bake and go. And if seasoned right (cheese helps), are just as delicious as the original potato french fry, and healthier too!. Let me show you what I mean.
It is with immense joy that I share today’s appropriately titled Fryday recipe from the comfort of my home sweet home in Aurora, Colorado. Brian and I are here for the long weekend, and it just so happens that my dearest Rohini is also making the trip home, And get this, it’s her birthday on Sunday, AND I’ll get to meet her boyfriend, because he’s coming too! I literally, and I mean literally, cannot contain my excitement right now.
So before I go jumping on Brian’s bed in the guest room, because yes, we sleep in separate rooms in the Yang house, let me share with you this great and stupidly easy recipe for oven-baked home fries. Thus completing recipe recap part 3 of 3 of our homemade Salmon Eggs Benedict and Bloody Marys brunch. There’s just so much to be happy about. TGIFryday.
Happy Fryday! I don’t know about you, but I can’t believe February is nearly over. Much more believable is the fact that I don’t have a single pound of weight loss to show it. Whoops.
With that in mind, I made these here delicious, baked zucchini fries to get me in the habit of eating a little healthier. To be fair, I just about tripled the original recipe’s cheese ratio, but that’s ok. Baby steps.
Take a good look at this picture. Can you figure out what I’ve done?
I took the traditional Thanksgiving sweet-potato-marshmallow casserole and gave it a fresh new eat-me-with-your-digits makeover. I present to you: baked cinnamon-sugar sweet potato fries with a marshmallow dipping sauce. The idea came to me like divine intervention. I thought I could claim it as a Fortune Goodies original, but a quick search on Pinterest would reveal I’m not the only one who recognized how much sense this makes. Original or not, these cinnamon-sugar sweet potato fries are a Fryday recipe worth sharing.
It’s Fryday. And these are My-Heart-Needed-a-Break-from-Frying Fries.
Also known as baked fries, they’re as delicious as they are easy. And if you’re looking for my honest opinion, you’re in luck. These better-for-you baked fries might are as good as the fatty, fried ones we all know and love. But that’s just me. Bonus: you got my humble opinion too.*
No, but really, you should always listen to me and make these (*ok, maybe not).
