Sorry for the mini hiatus, you guys. Big life changes have been going on around these parts. Atlanta and DC parts to be exact. That’s right, the long-anticipated move and change in career is finally happening (!) and I’ll be joining Brian in Atlanta full-time at the end of this month. I’m so beyond excited to start this new chapter of my life, but quitting my job at Bloomberg and saying goodbye to the dual coworkers/friends I’ve grown so close to was one of the hardest things I’ve ever done. Many tears were shed, all mine. So as happy as I was to finally be free to move down to Atlanta, this transition is more than a little bittersweet and I feel quite emotionally drained from the experience. That explains why I haven’t been posting, that and the fact that I immediately rushed down to Atlanta to get some face time in with my lovely new team at Womenetics, to spend a few days with Brian and to buy this darling new car of mine. Later today I’ll be off to Denver to take advantage of this time in between jobs. While I’m well aware that I entered into “adulthood” many years ago, something about being under the same roof as my parents brings me so much joy and comfort that I know any residual Bloomberg-breakup and impending DC sadness I feel will soon be healed and all will be well. Parents are great for that. Happy hump day!

Exciting news, you guys! After months of deliberating, Brian and I have finally zeroed in on where we want to do our honeymoon, and it’s ITALY! This planet of ours is a big, beautiful place so picking just one spot didn’t seem fair, but life is all about tough choices, and this one is definitely one of the better ones we’ll ever have to make.
I was in Rome with my family a few years ago (check out some pictures here), but this time around, our itinerary will include the Amalfi Coast with Positano as our home base, plenty of pizza, Florence, Cinque Terre, Venice and more pizza. If you’ve been, we’d love any and all recommendations you can share. Thanks in advance. I’m so excited!

Dropping in with a quick and belated hello today. It was just one of those gross ones, you know? Where things are more difficult than they need to be. Thankfully, the work part of things is coming to an end and soon I’ll be off to my Zumba class (I’m obsessed), and then it’s soul-warming pho with my sis Kate. Today is Brian’s birthday, which might explain why I’m in my funk. He’s alone and nursing his cast (pictures from my time in Atlanta above), and I’m sad I can’t be there to celebrate with him. He’s a good sport though, one of the many reasons why I’m a fan. Please join me in wishing him a happy birthday and speedy recovery.
Also, Talenti’s Carribbean Coconut gelato is my new favorite thing.
Sharing a few pictures from my time in Connecticut with my dear Megan. The weekend was the perfect balance of tasty food, sweaty exercise, productive work and silly fun. We also did good on our goal of conceiving my wedding and rehearsal dinner invitation suites. Megan is designing them and I can’t wait to eventually mail and share the final product with you all. Happy hump day!
Snapshots from the last few days. Highlights include: late-night Ben’s Chili Bowl and Jumbo Slice Pizza (two separate nights, even I have limits), a thoughtful giant Hello Kitty Pez gift from a friend, bridesmaid dress shopping, and happy meals with Brian. The bottom right picture is of WTF’s (Woodward Takeout Food) Cauliflower Gyro sandwich. It’s my favorite, but at $10, the price is a bit steep, and I only treat myself to it on especially busy days at work. Yesterday made the cut. Thank goodness it’s hump day!
A friend of mine is planning a trip to L.A. in June, so for a lack of more exciting current pictures, I thought I’d share a look back at the trip Brian and I took out there nearly two years ago. We travel really well together and have been on quite a few amazing trips since then (Barcelona is top of mind), but that sun-kissed trip in California and then Vegas will always hold a special place in my heart. In-N-Out and Disneyland will do that to a girl.
I’m always looking for my next adventure. Do you have a trip that you compare all other trips to? I’d love to know if so. Happy hump day.
