It’s official. I’m operating in my own time zone this week, a time zone on an entirely different planet. Wednesday’s post is making it in right before midnight. Chances are Thursday’s post will be as late if not later. One of these days, I’ll get my act together. Until then, here are some pictures from Brian’s move to Atlanta and my prized new Intro to Judaism certificate! Time management may not be my strength, but basic understanding of Jewish culture and history sure is.
Just one picture for you today. This was the scene outside my apartment yesterday morning. A manhole caught fire causing the Dupont, Logan and U-Street areas to be without power for most of the day. I’m talking 6am to 11pm, and it’s still not back in some places. Anyway, blackouts are inconvenient enough, especially at freezing temperatures, but even more so when you live on the 10th floor and you and your fiancé need to move him and his small mountain of worldly possessions out of your apartment, just you and him, down the pitch-black stairwell. So that was my Tuesday afternoon. I hope yours was better.
Now, I’m typing this in the car from somewhere in central Virginia as we make our way down to Atlanta for Brian’s move. I’ll be busy helping him set up house, so you may not hear from me again until next week. If that is indeed the case, I’m wishing you a happy rest of the week and fully-powered weekend.
Ah! I can’t believe it’s the last day of the year! Not when there’s still so much outstanding on my 2014 to-do list, resolutions like losing that same seven pounds from 2013. Woops. So, before I run off to go cycling to try and do good in my final hours of the year, here are some pictures from my time at home. It was wonderful, but by the look of it, something tells me the pounds gained in 2014 exceed seven. Oy. But hey, let’s not dwell on that. Have a great time tonight. Happy New Year! See you in 2015!
ICYMI: a Christmas home video if moving pictures are more your style.
Sharing a few snapshots from the last couple of weeks. Per usual, food was the highlight. If you’re ever in Atlanta, Coast Seafood and Raw Bar in Buckhead is awesome and I highly recommend it. Happy hump day!
I’m sharing but one photo for this week’s Pic Me Up, because the rest of my iPhone library is dominated by pictures of me in actual wedding dresses and a certain someone happens to read this blog every once in a while and we wouldn’t want to ruin the surprise for him.
My day after Thanksgiving was a very white one, not black. It was both a lot more fun and a lot more exhausting than I’d expected. Squeezing into dresses after eating a big Turkey dinner isn’t something I’d recommend, but any time with mom is a good time and I’m happy we did it. I didn’t settle on a dress, but did settle on a style. I’m not great at keeping secrets, but this is one that I’ll have to keep to myself.
I’m still so overwhelmed, so if you’ve got any pointers, I’d love to hear them. Thanks!
Hello hello! Not much to report around these parts, so I’m just sharing a few pictures from the last week or two. Lots of good, warm food to help ease into the season, with lots more ahead I’m sure. Happy Hump Day!
