Recipe Reciprocity - Cajun Chicken PastaRecipe Reciprocity - Skinny Spinach LasagnaRecipe Reciprocity - Chili Cornbread Pot PieRecipe Reciprocity - Pot Pie Potato SkinsRecipe Reciprocity - Apple Spinach Salad
Let me give you a little insight into my stomach and how it seems to have a mind of its own. So, when I sat down to find some recipes for this post, my first thought was, “What healthy dish can I make with the chicken breasts I want to use tomorrow?” Here’s how that panned out:

1. Sure there’s an abundance of healthy chicken recipes out there, but I somehow only had eyes for the really indulgent ones like Damn Delicious’s Cajun Chicken Pasta. Old habits die hard.
2. And because I was riding the pasta train, I thought to myself, “Hey! How about some gooey, cheesy lasagna?” Which brought me to this recipe from Pinch of Yum. At least there’s spinach?
3. But the lasagna is vegetarian, so naturally, that got me thinking about meat, which got me thinking about the great big pot of chili I made the other night, which then got me thinking, “Hmm, what can be better than chili?” The answer: The Weary Chef’s Chili Cornbread Pot Pie. Genius.
4. Which then led me to these Chicken Pot Pie Potato Skins by Whole & Heavenly Oven. I mean, how perfect?
5. So that’s how my mind works. And because I couldn’t bear to be a complete healthy-eating failure, here’s a recipe for Apple, White Cheddar & Spinach Salad with Honey-Apple Cider Vinaigrette by Averie Cooks.

As always, a big hat tip to my fellow food bloggers. Thanks for the great inspiration, ladies!

Recipe Reciprocity - Brussels Sprouts, Cranberry & Quinoa SaladRecipe Reciprocity - Shrimp & Avocado Taco SaladRecipe Reciprocity - Spicy Kale & Quinoa Black Bean SaladRecipe Reciprocity - Pear Pomegranate & Spinach SaladRecipe Reciprocity - Best-Ever Broccoli Salad
Since the wedding, I’ve fallen off the eating-well and exercise wagon hard. Real hard. Well, it’s time I get back to it and have every intention of trying these salads that I’m sure are just as delicious as they are pretty.

1. Brussels Sprouts, Cranberry and Quinoa Salad by Gimme Some Oven, because I’m finally starting to enjoy quinoa. The Chinese in me (which is all of me) wants nothing but jasmine rice.
2. Shrimp & Avocado Taco Salad by Iowa Girl Eats. Enough said.
3. Along the same lines – Spicy Kale, Quinoa and Black Bean Salad by The Glowing Fridge.
4. Pear, Pomegranate and Spinach Salad by Cooking Classy. Walnuts and feta too!
5. I prefer my salads without lettuce, so this Best-Ever Broccoli Salad from Mom on Time Out looks right up my alley.

Eating healthy won’t be so bad after all. And since we’re on the subject, did you see my Positano Salad recipe from earlier this week? It’s all I want to eat these days.

Recipe Reciprocity - Valentine's Day Drinks
I’m taking big shortcuts with today’s post. I was at work until 1:30 last night editing an interview with Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg (she’s adorable by the way), so I’m cheating and ditching my standard Thirsty Thursday and Recipe Reciprocity formats. I contemplated not posting anything at all, but I’ve been eyeing these Valentine-themed drink recipes and just had to share.  Click through to check them out!

– Moscato is the one alcohol I don’t mind drinking, because it’s basically juice and has very little alcohol content. Create-Celebrate-Explore’s Raspberry Moscato Cocktail is right up my alley.
– I can’t think of anything more February-14th-appropriate than Pizzazzerie’s Red Velvet Milkshake.
Sugarhero’s Raspberry White Hot Chocolate is a close second.
Keep things simple yet festive with this great idea for pomegranate seed ice cubes by Two Loves Studio.
– And finally, an incredibly fun glass of Red Hot Jello by Joy of Jello. Hot!

Amazing stuff, right? Cheers to you and the lovely bloggers who created these great concoctions!

Recipe Reciprocity - Jalapeno Popper Chicken ChiliRecipe Reciprocity - Bufalo Chicken MeatballsRecipe Reciprocity - Buffalo Chicken Sliders Recipe Reciprocity - Cheesy Game Day Dip
Recipe Reciprocity - Jalapeno Cheddar Corn Bread
The theme of today’s Recipe Reciprocity is a rather obvious one. With so many Super Bowl friendly recipes to choose from (how can there be so many recipes for buffalo chicken dip?), the following five stood out above the rest.

1. Jalapeño poppers are a major weakness of mine (evidence here and here), but frying them up can be quite the hassle. Nothing says “easy” quite like a slow cooker, so I’m loving Show Me the Yummy’s ingenious idea for Jalapeño Popper White Chicken Chili made in, you guessed it, a slow cooker.
2. Buffalo wings are of course mandatory at any Super Bowl party, but sucking on bones and fingers isn’t the most flattering of things to do even if you are in the company of friends. To eliminate that problem, Jaymee of E is for Eat shared these great Buffalo Chicken Meatballs that you can serve and eat using a toothpick. Now that’s classy.
3. The same sentiment applies to Hip 2 Save’s Slow Cooker Shredded Buffalo Chicken Sliders
4. I’m a big believer that nearly everything tastes better with corn (savory dishes of course, although the rule applies to a few sweet things too), so this corn-heavy Cheesy Game Day Dip by Simply Happenstance is right up my alley.
5. And finally, no Super Bowl party would be complete without something shaped like a football. Hungry Happenings’ Jalapeño Cheddar Corn Bread Footballs wins for most adorable.

That’ll do it for this week’s game-day hat tip to my fellow food bloggers. Thanks for all the great eats, ladies!

Recipe Reciprocity - Hershey's Cream Cheese BrowniesRecipe Reciprocity - Hershey Bar PieRecipe Reciprocity - Hershey's Kisses Skillet CookieRecipe Reciprocity - S'mores Trail Mix

Recipe Reciprocity - S'mores Cheesecake

Keeping up with all things Hershey’s chocolate. Here’s a a roundup of some of the best Hershey recipes out there.

1. Get this. Cream Cheese Brownies with the Hershey bar melted right on top. Bravo, Susan. Bravo.
2. An easy, 3-ingredient, no-bake Hershey Bar Pie straight from the Hershey’s Kitchen.
3. I’m big into skillet cookies. This recipe I posted is a good one, but this one from Buns in My Oven using Hershey’s Kisses instead of regular little chocolate chips looks out-of-control good. I love that you can dig in and eat it with a spoon.
4. Hershey’s S’mores Trail Mix by Bubbly Nature Creations. This is just so clever to me. All of your favorite s’mores flavors by the handful.
5. And finally, the winner for richest, most delectable-looking cake goes to Cookies & Cups and Shelly’s S’mores Cheesecake. It looks insanely good, but also looks like something that will have to wait until after the wedding. Someone else please try it and let me know how it is! I will live vicariously and ravenously through you.

That’ll do it for this week’s hat tip to my fellow food bloggers. Thanks, ladies!

Recipe Reciprocity - Cucumber Turkey Roll-ups

Getting to today’s Recipe Reciprocity rather late today (gosh how I hope this isn’t some bad omen for the rest of the year), but Brian and I have been shopping for Atlanta furniture online, and man is it harder than we expected. So many options, so few that we actually like and even fewer that we can afford, but I think we’re finally getting somewhere. Luckily, searching for healthier recipes is a much easier task and to get this new year started on the right foot, here are a few great ones from out in the blogosphere.

1. For those days when I can’t be bothered to pack or buy lunch, I keep a can of Amy’s Organic Vegetable Soup in my desk drawer. It’s my favorite, but certainly not as great as the real thing. Serena Bakes Simply from Scratch’s recipe for Alphabet Vegetable Soup is.
2. I’ve written about my love for Greek Salad beforeCooking LSL’s Shrimp Greek Salad is another great take on my favorite.
3. Mac and cheese will always be a weakness for me, thankfully Damn Delicious has a great skinny cauliflower version to help satisfy my cravings without setting me back.
4. For me, drinking healthy is a lot easier than eating healthy, especially with detox smoothies like this one from The Honour System
5. And finally, Cucumber Turkey Roll-Ups from She Knows that look like  delight regardless of whether you’re on a diet.

That’ll do it for 2015’s first hat tip to my fellow food bloggers. Thanks for the healthy eats, ladies!
