Watermelon Juice | fortune goodies

Hello hello! I hope you had a wonderful weekend, because I certainly did. Brian’s parents and sister were in town and we had a great time taking them to some of our favorite restaurants (check out my DC food guide here) and out to beautiful Lake Anna to visit with his aunt and uncle. Brian says his favorite time of year is the July 4th weekend, and I might have to agree with him. It doesn’t get much better than hot dogs, hamburgers, fireworks and watermelon.

Lots and lots of watermelon. Harris Teeter was having a sale so Brian and I each bought a big watermelon and managed to eat and drink our way through both of them, thanks in large part to this recipe for Watermelon Juice. So what I have for you today is a Thirsty Thursday post on a Monday. I’m doing things a little out of order this week, because why not? But really, it’s because I couldn’t get my ice-cream making act together and had to shuffle things around a bit. Check back on Thursday for Nutella Ice Cream. Yep, that’s right. Nutella.

To the matter at hand, follow these easy steps to change up your watermelon consumption pattern.

Watermelon Juice Ingredients
You’ll need: about 7 cups of watermelon, the juice of 1 lime, and a teaspoon of honey.

Watermelon Juice How To
Puree the watermelon chunks in a blender.

How to make Watermelon Juice
Strain the watermelon juice through a fine-mesh sieve, discarding the watermelon pulp and seeds.

Adding lime and honey to Watermelon Juice
For a little something extra, add the lime juice and teaspoon of honey. Stir, pour and enjoy.

Fresh Watermelon Juice
The recipe makes about 3 servings that Brian and I split between us. Only two of the three made the photo. We drink faster than I can snap pictures.

Watermelon Juice
This is a great and easy recipe that’s almost like sticking a straw right through a watermelon, but better. The lime and honey make for lovely extra flavors that give the drinks more depth. Quite refreshing and healthy too. Enjoy!
